St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School
An educational ministry of St. Francis of Assisi Parish
Providing quality Catholic educational
services to Sacramento, California since 1895
"Lord, make us instruments of your peace."
St. Francis Elementary School opened on November 5,1895, as a two room school staffed by the Sisters of Mercy from St. Joseph’s Academy. The school, under their direction, expanded to grade twelve by 1947. Several years later, the high school was relocated, and the present site became an elementary school only.
St. Francis is a Franciscan Catholic elementary school educating children in grades transitional-kindergarten through eighth. We are located in Midtown Sacramento and serve families from all over the Sacramento area. We offer a value-driven, accredited, academic program including religious instruction, Spanish/Italian, computer training, library skills, performing arts, and physical education.
The school is self-supporting, relying on tuition and fees, fundraising events, and private donations as sources for operation. Families in need may apply for financial assistance provided through scholarships, donations, and the parish.
