History

St. Francis of AssisiSt. Francis Elementary School opened on November 5,1895, as a two room school staffed by the Sisters of Mercy from St. Joseph’s Academy. The school, under their direction, expanded to grade twelve by 1947. Several years later, the high school was relocated, and the present site became an elementary school only.

Present

St. Francis is a Franciscan Catholic elementary school educating children in grades transitional-kindergarten through eighth. We are located in Midtown Sacramento and serve families from all over the Sacramento area. We offer a value-driven, accredited, academic program including religious instruction, Spanish/Italian, computer training, library skills, performing arts, and physical education.
